Call for Papers
We welcome contributions from economists, policymakers, researchers, and industry experts addressing the theme “Enhancing Regional Productivity and Competitiveness”, with a focus on productivity measurement, economic growth, and competitiveness within the KLEMS framework (Capital, Labour, Energy, Materials, and Services).

The 7th Asia KLEMS Conference welcomes paper submissions from Asia KLEMS member countries that apply the KLEMS framework (Capital, Labour, Energy, Materials, and Services) to productivity analysis, policy development, and competitiveness assessment.
1. Productivity-Oriented Policy Reforms in KLEMS Member Countries
Evidence-based policy design using KLEMS data to address structural productivity challenges and improve economic performance.
2. Capital Investment and Infrastructure Productivity
Public and private investment efficiency, infrastructure upgrading, and the role of digital and smart infrastructure in enhancing productivity.
3. Labour Market Efficiency and Skills Development
Human capital development, workforce skills, labour market flexibility, and productivity per worker across KLEMS member economies.
4. Innovation, Digitalisation, and Industry Transformation
Productivity impacts of Industry 4.0, digital technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, and innovation-led growth strategies.
5. Supply Chain Efficiency and Trade Competitiveness
Logistics performance, supply chain resilience, trade connectivity, and export competitiveness in regional and global markets.
6. Productivity and Global Competitiveness Performance
Analysis of productivity drivers influencing performance in international benchmarks such as the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), Ease of Doing Business indicators, and the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking.
7. Regional Productivity Leadership and Cooperation among Asia KLEMS Members
Comparative productivity analysis, cross-country collaboration, and regional policy coordination to strengthen productivity and competitiveness within Asia.
Submission Guidelines
- Papers must be written in English, which include author's name, institutional affiliation(s), and paper title.
- Submit an abstract (max. 1,500 words) and full paper (3,000–8,000 words).
- All submissions will be reviewed by the committee.
- Selected papers will be presented during conference sessions and considered for publication in the conference proceedings.
Important Information
- Abstract Submission Deadline: 28 February 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: 31 March 2026
- Final Paper Submission: 31 May 2026
- The committee reserves the right to withdraw any article from the programme if the corresponding presenter does not attend the conference.
- To minimise no-shows and optimise available presentation slots, presenters must notify the committee at least one week in advance if they are unable to attend.
