A Glance about Asia KLEMS
Asia KLEMS is a regional research consortium dedicated to developing productivity databases and facilitating international productivity comparisons across Asian economies, using the KLEMS methodology originally adopted by the EU KLEMS Project.
The initiative began in December 2010, led by Professors Hak K. Pyo, Kyoji Fukao, and Tsutomu Miyagawa—scholars who represented Korea and Japan, respectively, in the EU KLEMS Consortium.
Asia KLEMS was established as a regional extension of the World KLEMS Project, launched by Professor Dale Jorgenson of Harvard University in August 2010.
The first Asia KLEMS Conference took place on July 27, 2011, at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) in Tokyo, marking the official start of the Asia KLEMS initiative.
The event was jointly organized by the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) of Japan, the Hitotsubashi University Hi-Stat Project, and the Asian Development Bank Institute.
